Meet IMCA volunteer
Andy Anderson

Andy Anderson took a museum tour and encouraged by Duane Perron, became a volunteer. He now spends his free time restoring carousel animals.

Andy lives in the Hood River Valley and raises Cherries. Some times of the year are very busy in his orchards, but when his "trees are sleeping", he comes to the museum and brings damaged carousel animals back to life.

Andy does not consider himself a woodworker, but the quality of his work tells a different story.

After replacing missing sections of wood, Andy carves
the new wood to meet and match the original.

An Anderson works on an Anderson!

Here Andy sands the wood smooth. Andy particularly enjoys working on this horse. It was carved by English carousel maker Arthur Anderson.

Noice the shelves of parts behind Andy. He has many more projects ahead of him.

THANKS ANDY!
